Summer Stretch

Summer Stretch is a five-week program for students leaving grades 6-8 and high school age youth who help as peer leaders that focuses on service, prayer, and community.  It typically takes place on five Thursdays, beginning in late June or early July.  Mornings are devoted to a service project, and afternoons are devoted to some social activity to build community among participants.  The program was designed many years ago “to give incoming 7, 8, & 9 grade youth a safe, healthy place to belong where they can contribute to the community along with socialize with their peers.”  Over 60 churches in the Twin Cities/Western Wisconsin area participate.   This is YOUR chance to be part of a fun, spirit-filled program!

A typical Thursday:

8:00 A.M. – high school leaders meet in Beaudette Center to finish planning for the day

8:30 A.M. – middle school students meet at Beaudette Centre and begin with ice breakers and devotions led by the peer leaders.

9:15 A.M. -  after receiving instruction, we break into work groups and do community service from about 9:30 A.M. - noon

12:00 P.M. – Return to the church and all eat a bag lunch.
